White House to propose raise for federal workers

So, with more and more of the US falling below the poverty line. With unemployment skyrocketing and families losing their homes, the federal government thinks it’s time to give their employee’s a raise. Government spending isn’t completely out of control, NO!

It’s beyond me how the government can think this would fly with the American people; the same people that are in the streets protesting, that are losing their homes, that can’t afford to get medical care or feed their kids. Here are some FACTS folks.

In 2010, 17.2 million households, 14.5 percent of households (approximately one in seven), were food insecure, the highest number ever recorded in the United States

In 2010, 46.9 million people were in poverty, up from 37.3 million in 2007 — the fourth consecutive annual increase in the number of people in poverty.

From Sept 2011, the New York Time…

Economists pointed to a telling statistic: It was the first time since the Great Depression that median household income, adjusted for inflation, had not risen over such a long period, said Lawrence Katz, an economics professor at Harvard.

“This is truly a lost decade,” Mr. Katz said. “We think of America as a place where every generation is doing better, but we’re looking at a period when the median family is in worse shape than it was in the late 1990s.”

So lets give the fed’s employees a raise; I don’t think so.
